Giulio Iacchetti
Giulio Iacchetti, industrial designer since 1992, designs for various brands, including Abet Laminati, Alessi, Artemide, Fontana Arte, Foscarini, Ifi, Magis, Pandora design. He is art director of Danese Milano, Dnd, Myhome and Internoitaliano. His distinctive features include research and the definition of new object typologies such as the Moscardino, a multi-purpose biodegradable cutlery, designed with Matteo Ragni for Pandora Design and awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 2001. In 2009 he was awarded the Premio dei Premi for innovation by the President of the Italian Republic for the Eureka Coop project, with which he brought design into the large-scale retail trade. In May 2009, the Triennale di Milano hosted a solo exhibition of his work entitled “Giulio Iacchetti. Disobedient objects”. Always attentive to the evolution of the relationship between craftsmanship and design, in November 2012 he launched Internoitaliano, the “diffuse factory” made up of many artisan workshops with which he signs and produces furniture and accessories inspired by the Italian way of making and living. At the same time, he has continued his personal research into new design themes such as the cross, which led to the exhibition “Cruciale”, held at the Museo Diocesano in Milan, the Basilica of Santo Stefano Rotondo in Rome and the Castello di Lombardia in Enna.
In 2014 he won his second Compasso d’Oro award for the Sfera series of manhole covers, designed with Matteo Ragni for Montini.
