DESCRIPTION
Florian Hauswirth creates a modern carpet that reinterprets a classic pattern from the Asian manufacturing tradition. The same shape, almost as if it were the constituent element of the material, is repeated or superimposed throughout the pattern. This shape is fire-branded onto the pile of this wool rug using a technique invented by the designer, which draws on the ancient custom of ritual tattooing.
