DESCRIPTION
David Elia designs the pattern of a wool rug that is a heartfelt denunciation of the conditions of the population in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. The pile shows us pairs of slippers, walking in the water. This, in effect, is the situation experienced by children and adults in the favelas when it rains and the streets fill with mud, becoming impassable.
